New Security Licence Application Procedures
The Victorian Police - Licensing and Registration Division (LRD) on the 4th of July, 2011 introduced some new regulation for new and existing Security Licence holders. Please read carefully below for more information.
Once you’ve successfully completed all the units for your Certificate II in Security Operations you are eligible to apply for your Security Guard / Unarmed Guard / Crowd Controller Security Licence.
PLEASE NOTE: You cannot work in Security until you have your actual plastic Security Licence!
YOU NEED TO OBTAIN A NATIONAL POLICE CHECK CERTIFICATE
There are TWO things you need to do to get this Certificate:
1) Have your Fingerprints taken
to make an appointment ring 1300 881 596 between 8:00am –5:00pm Monday to Friday. ALL Metropolitan applicants must go the Police Customer Service Centre.

*Please enquire about other locations for fingerprinting if you are located regionally.
Once you have made the appointment you will need to complete the following to take with you
2) Complete on-line and then print a National Police Records Check Application Form

If you don’t have a printer you are welcome to come to our office to use our facilities.
Take your completed National Police Records Check Application Form along with your 100 points of ID and payment with you to your Fingerprinting Appointment.
FEES FOR NATIONAL POLICE CHECK
Fingerprinting Check and National Police Records Check Application: $141.00
Please check with one of our friendly staff for funding details for payment of this. If you are a Full Fee Paying student or Funded through a “Combo” you will need to pay this yourself.
You should receive your National Police Certificate within 10 working days of your Fingerprinting appointment.
